Wild Heron is a gated community on Lake Powell, the large coastal dune lake between Laguna Beach and Inlet Beach. Expect live oaks, a lake made for paddling, and the Gulf a short drive south, all in Bay County.

A gated preserve on Lake Powell, in Bay County west of the beach.
Community materials describe a forested preserve on the order of 734 acres, with coastal-craftsman houses meant to sit under the canopy. Owner amenities run to a heated pool and spa, a fitness room, a boathouse pavilion with grills and a fire pit, kayak storage, a paddle dock, trails, and parks. Boat-slip leases, when offered, go through the association.
Shark’s Tooth and the other Watersound Club courses sit in this landscape; club membership is separate from home ownership.
Carillon Beach is the nearby Gulf village. Laguna Beach is the open shore. RiverCamps is the other Bay County preserve, north on Crooked Creek and West Bay. Inlet Beach, Rosemary Beach, and Watersound lie across the line in Walton County. Lake Powell Park, on the north side of Highway 98, is the public lake access.
Dues, architectural review, and flood details are in the community documents for each home.
