Panama City is the bay city across the Hathaway Bridge from Panama City Beach. Downtown sits on Harrison Avenue. St. Andrews is the historic bayfront district. Millville is a neighborhood east of downtown.
US 98 and the Hathaway Bridge are the ordinary connection to the beach. City hall, Bay District Schools administration, and the hospitals most people use are on this side of the bridge. Tyndall Air Force Base is farther east.
Here the water is St. Andrews Bay, and the Gulf beaches are a drive away.
